Who is The Informationist?
Every week, decisions get made in rooms most people never see. A Fed meeting, a Treasury refunding, a central bank quietly changing course, a crack forming in private credit. They move markets, and they move your wealth, well before any of it reaches the headlines.
And the official story of how all this works leaves out the important part. You’re taught the tidy version, the one where the money supply grows forever and nobody quite seems to pay for it. The real machinery works differently, and someone always pays. Almost none of that is taught in a classroom, not in school, and not even in business school.
The Informationist takes you inside those rooms. Every week I work through the handful of things that actually matter, what’s happening, why it matters, and how I’m reading it, in plain English and in the time it takes to have a coffee. I won’t tell you what to buy. I’ll show you how to think about it, so the decisions you make are your own and better informed.
I’m James Lavish. I’m a CFA, and I’ve spent thirty years inside markets, from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to running money at hedge funds. Today I co-manage a Bitcoin-focused fund and sit on the board of a public Bitcoin treasury company (NASDAQ: ASST).
