We’re starting to see this term everywhere, and markets seem to be reacting in real-time.
But why?
What exactly is this so-called "Trump Trade”? Is it real or just another load of political rhetoric and hot air that’s being blown around?
And more importantly, how can you take advantage of (or protect yourself from) it in your own portfolio?
If you’ve been wondering about this and it confuses you, no worries. Because we’re going to break it all down for you, nice and easy as always, today.
So, grab your favorite cup of coffee, and settle into a nice comfortable seat for a Sunday read with The Informationist.
🧐 The Big (macro) Picture
To understand the Trump Trade we must first understand what it is (and what it is not).
Sort out the signal from the noise, so to speak.

The Trump Trade assumes that Trump wins and inherits a Congress that he can work with to make substantial changes, quickly (this part is important).
Unless you’ve been completely unplugged from the news and social media this past month (not a bad summer policy, BTW), you’ve likely seen the drama on the largest political stage here in the US.
Rest assured, we’re not going to get into the details of the drama here, but we are going to point out a few important moments and developments from the last number of weeks.
